I’ve been spending the last week freshing up some 3D exercises from this spring’s character animation course in Viborg. The goal is to put together a nice looking reel that I can use to apply for animation jobs. I’ve been polishing the animation and working out how to make some simple yet nice renders. First to go was the quintessential animation exercise, the boxlift. Can you feel the weight?
Hogan lifting a box from Andreas Qassim on Vimeo.
Incredible work as always Andreas! I just know someone big out there will soon notice your talents and put you on the ride to glory!
I have a suggestion though, I think if you made Hogan´s legs shake from the mere weight of the box it would look even heavier, you know during the moment he picks it up and until he starts wobbling backwards.
Keep up the superduper work Q!
Thanks Tobbe! Hm, I’m not sure about that. If you think of a weightlifter, or when you lift a heavy object yourself, your feet and legs are firmly planted in the ground by the sheer weight of the object, and there isn’t much room for moving your legs at all. Possibly I could let his legs vibrate a tad bit, but chances are it would look weird.
When you put it that way I suppose you are right, I think it would be something that is hard to do correctly and easy to mess up.
Also looked over the new animations you recently posted, I love ém, and I love Hogan´s smile as well, hardcore >8)
